A UKRAINIAN ALTERNATIVE

A Ukrainian alternative to iiko, Syrve and R-Keeper

If you are looking to replace iiko, Syrve or R-Keeper — below are sourced facts about where those systems come from, a checklist for vetting any vendor yourself, and an honest list of what Stolik cannot do.

  • Stolik is built in Ukraine; data sits in an EU data centre (Frankfurt)
  • Backups run every 6 hours to European storage
  • One-click data export, monthly billing, no contract
  • A checklist for vetting any vendor’s origins yourself
  • Honestly: what Stolik lacks compared to iiko and R-Keeper

Where these systems come from: what reporters established

We ran no investigation of our own and repeat no rumours — below is only what Ukrainian media has published, with dates. Verify it yourself. In September 2022 the outlet AIN.ua reported that the Russian software iiko entered the market under the Syrve brand, linking it to a wish to keep operating in Ukraine. In February 2024 AIN published a piece on where the data of Ukrainian restaurants using that product is stored. Syrve itself stated in its announcement that it is an independent business not controlled by the iiko group. We include that position too, so you see both sides rather than one. R-Keeper is developed by UCS. Before the full-scale invasion both systems were widespread on the Ukrainian market. What to do with that is your call. For some venues it is a matter of principle, for others it is not, and we do not intend to decide it for you.

A checklist for vetting any vendor yourself

This list works for any system, including ours. Ask support these questions before you migrate your venue’s data. 1. Which legal entity signs the contract, and in what jurisdiction is it registered? Not “a team in Europe” — a name and a registration number. 2. In which data centre does the database physically live? A city or cloud region, not “a secure cloud”. 3. Where are backups stored and how often are they taken? 4. Who has technical access to the database, and in which country are those people? 5. How do you take your data out if you leave? Format, timeframe, any fee. 6. Is there a contract with a minimum term and an early-termination penalty? If the answer to items 1–3 is “that is confidential”, that is itself an answer.

Our own answers to the same checklist

It would be dishonest to hand you a list of questions and not answer them first. The database is Postgres in a European cloud region (Frankfurt, eu-central-1). Backups run every 6 hours into European object storage. The frontend is served from European edge locations. Export: menu, order history and reports download from the admin panel in one click, in a machine-readable format. There is no exit fee. Billing is monthly with no minimum-term contract — stop any time. The first 15 days are free and need no card. We send our legal details on request — write to hello@stolik.top or reach us on Telegram; the links are in the footer. We do not publish them here yet, and it is more honest to say so than to write “see the public offer” and leave you searching. If any of this is not enough, ask before you register, not after.

Honestly: where iiko and R-Keeper are stronger

Replacing a system over the vendor’s origins only makes sense if the replacement actually covers your work. Otherwise you swap one problem for another. iiko and R-Keeper are heavy systems for large venues and chains. They have full inventory with recipe cards, multi-location setups with consolidated reporting, deep delivery integrations, fiscalisation, and a large network of certified integrators. Stolik has none of that. We are built for one small venue: register, floor, kitchen, QR menu, business lunches, banquets, reports. No gram-level inventory, no fiscal register, no delivery aggregators, no chain configurations. If you run ten locations with shared stock, no argument about origins makes up for missing functionality. Look at other Ukrainian systems — the market has several. If you run a single coffee shop or a 40–80 seat restaurant, switch and test it free for 15 days.

FAQ

Can I migrate data from iiko or R-Keeper?

There is no automatic import. The menu is entered by hand — one evening of work for a 40–60 item venue. We do not migrate sales history: it stays in your previous system, so export it before you switch off.

Where did you get the information about these systems’ origins?

From reporting by the Ukrainian outlet AIN.ua in 2022 and 2024. We ran no investigation of our own and claim nothing beyond what those outlets have published. Syrve’s own position is set out in the page text too.

What if Stolik is not “really” Ukrainian either?

A fair question, which is exactly why the checklist is above. We named the database region specifically (Frankfurt, eu-central-1), data export works from day one, and legal details go out on request. Do not take our word for it — put the same six questions to us, before you register.
